Sunshine, daydreams!

Despite springing forward we all had a fantastic sleep! We woke up to two giggeling boys, perfect sunshine and the sparkeling ocean out our window. What could be better? Colour has returned to our lives and it is such a sight for sore eyes.

We had breakfast and tea on the balcony watching as the sun drew everyone out and on to the beach. In many ways this town reminds me of Grand Bend and the ocean could be Lake Huron on a perfect summer day. The difference is the swaying palms, telling us we are some where tropical. After Nate finnished his fouth piece of toast, I couldn't wait any more. We headed to the beach. It was still early and the air hadn't quite yet been warmed by the sun so we just went to walk and explore. The beach was as beautiful as the pictures, perfect soft, white sand and turquoise water. We dipped our toes in but the water was a bit chilly. We waded along the shore finding shells, giant oysters and bits of coral. After strolling for a while we headed over to John's Pass, an outdoor shopping area, where we found beach towels and toys. We made a quick trip back to the condo to change and then we headed to the beach for real. Will and Nate loved every second of splashing in the surf. When they finally got cold, Ken and I found a beach cabana and watched while the boys made "potion", a mix of sea water, sand and shells. They put the new beach toys to excellent use, digging, mixing and moulding! This was the day I was craving, sun, sand, watching the boys run and play, it was perfection! After a few hours we realized the drive had had a few lasting effects. Namely, two tired boys. We headed back to the condo for lunch and a nap. After Boate family nap time, we headed back to John's pass. There are lots of shops but also a very active board walk along the ocean's coast. After walking and exploring for a while the boys were ready to head back to the pool. I really think we could do nothing but go to the pool all day, every day and we would have two very happy boys on our hands!

When we were finally able to drag the boys out of the water we made a quick dinner and ate on the balcony as the sun went down. While we were eating, Nate announced that he and Sam (Sampson) granola were going to live in Florida and we could come and visit for five days. After some negotaiating he agreed to 60 days. There is no doubt about the fact that these two boys and summer lovers. I asked Nate if he would miss the snow even a little, with out even a hint of hesistation he said,"No"! Ken and I are now enjoysing an after dinner drink, the boys are passed out and we are anticipating tomorrow's adventure. Look out Busch Gardens, here we come!!
